The device comprises two runners (10) mounted on a base plate (20) by means of a ball joint (13). These runners slide over a circular path (16) provided on the revolving component (12). Each runner is fitted with two flanges (22) which surround the ball joint (13) as well as the base (17) and the chassis (18) by means of which the ball joint bears on the base plate (20). The cross-section and the shape of these flanges are chosen to match the rigidity of the runner to that of the track (16) of the revolving component (12). The device applies more particularly to the bearings of tubular grinders, to the load-bearing bearings of the rollers of rotary ovens, etc. <IMAGE>
