摘要 <p>In the conversion of the NH3 fraction of a gas to be analysed to NO using a heated catalyst in a reaction chamber, the gas mixt. is passed at a spatial velocity of 30,000-200,000 h-1 through the chamber, which contains Pt on a support of large surface area, heated to 650-900, pref. 700-800 degrees C. The process is useful for monitoring waste gases from industrial processes, e.g. foundry, sewage treatment and chemical plants. Complete conversion of NH3 to NO is attained, whilst the catalyst is stable and side reactions of other constituents in the gas mixt. are minimised.</p>
