Power station cooling tower - with waste gas purification section within the tower

A waste gas purification installation is either wholly or partly within the cooling tower. The gases to be purified are brought into the purification installation within the tower and heat given up by the gases is transferred to the air circulating within the tower. In this way the gases leaving the purification installation are diluted by the air, and the air/gas mixture is sufficiently hot to ensure the evacuation of the gas at a high level in the atmosphere.
