The vertical chute into which the food is fed is bounded by vertical cylindrical surface of the blade radius and, at a distance above the blade, by a horizontal radial edge (9) of a wall. The edge (9) meets an inclined wall (10) having serrations (10a) on its lower edge and meeting the horizontal at an angle of approx. 25 deg. The transition between the walls (6, 10) can have a radius of curvature of 35 mm. The space between the wall and blade plane (E-E) near the blade (4) circumference is bounded by a vertical.
