The cutting tool is depicted as a saw band (Fig. 1) which can form the developed view of a core drill. It has numerous sintered cutting bodies (8) brazed onto a, for example hollow-cylindrical, supporting part (14). By their arrangement and/or shaping in such a way that their cross-section (Fig. 4) running perpendicularly to the direction of the cutting movement is narrower than the cutting gap (2), improved flow of coolant around the cutting bodies is made possible so that higher cutting capacities are possible without the cutting bodies overheating. The cutting body has, for example, an area (34, Fig. 4) of sintered metal and a base (36) of heat-conducting material. <IMAGE>
