A circuit breaker contact has an increased power capacity. This is achieved without it being necessary to increase the dimensions. Contact bounce is reduced to a min. The switch contact includes a permananent magnetic material for extinguishing the arc. The switching combination consits of a baseplate-which is the permanent magnetic section-and an upper section forming the contact element. The permanent magnet is ring-shaped with a hole for the contact section.
