<p>A cylindrical roller (15) of a roller conveyor is located on a pivot shaft (2). A coaxial drive wheel (6), located on the same centre shaft (2) is driven by a chain or friction belt. Radial ball bearings (18) enable the conveyor roller (15) and the drive wheel to rotate on the centre shaft (2). The neighbouring axial faces on the roller and drive wheen include permanent magnets (19, 20) arranged on equal pitch cicles. The magnets produce a friction coupling between roller and driver which disengages when overloaded.</p> |
