An electron microscope is such that the specimen is inserted axially. There is an object base with changeable cartridge for the specimen holder. It is located int efield of a magnetic lens and can be adjusted along one of the axes. The electrical drive is provided by a stepping motor attached to the object base. The axis of the rotor coincides with the x-axis. It is attached to the specimen holder. The stepping motor has a transducer operated by the piezo-electric principle and is used for the synchronisation of the movements.
