Graphic pattern printed on a base

The antifalsification paper composed of a base and a graphic pattern printed on has a pattern with a line grating produced by die-stamping. The pattern has an aesthetic effect based on the three-dimensional quality of the line grating. This effect is shown by a darkening and brightening effect when the base (2) is swivelled. For the purposes of recognising the authenticity of the antifalsification paper there are a plurality of passages (5) transversely interrupting the line grating. When the base is swivelled the contrast between the colour of the lines (1) and of the base in the passage is very clearly apparent, with the result that the passage can then easily be recognised by the naked eye as a colourless strip. In order to make a falsification virtually impossible, the line grating is further continuously modified section by section.
