PURPOSE:To provide an internal combustion engine piston, whose land section has a particular sectional profile to prevent blow-by. CONSTITUTION:In this piston 1, a land section 11 has a diameter smaller than that of a lower portion of a skirt section 12, and the diameter of a pin hole 13 provided with a pin boss section 14 is through the piston axis A-A and parallel to an axis Y'- Y' make smaller on an axis Y-Y passing than that on an axis X-X perpendicular to the axis Y-Y and passing through the piston axis A-A. Further, the land section 11 has such a sectional profile that the length V of its portion on the side of a piston pin 2 is greater than the length W of its portion of the opposite side with respect to the axis Y-Y passing through the piston axis A-A and parallel to the axis Y'-Y', that is, its profile is assimetric on the thrust and non-thrust sides T and U with respect to the axis Y-Y. With this structure, the seal property of the piston can be improved. |
