PURPOSE:To effectively intercept conduction of heat, to prevent trouble due to high temperature, and to miniaturize an image forming apparatus by forming a double wall on the side of a photosensitive body of a protective cover for housing a heating unit and ventilating air through the inside. CONSTITUTION:An exhaustion blower 18 sucks air near a photosensitive drum 1 through an inlet (a) and the air out of the double wall 15 of the electrophotographic heat fixing device 10 through an inlet (b) and exhaust the air through an exhaust duct 17, thus permitting the temperatures of the inside and outside of the double wall 15 to be lowered, to prevent heat conduction from a heating roller 11 to the outer surface of the double wall 15, and to effectively intercept the heat conduction of the upper protective cover 13 to a cleaner 6, the drum 1, and the like, and consequently, the distance between the thermal fixing device 10 and the parts, such as the cleaner, to be narrowed, and the miniaturizing of the image forming apparatus to be realized easily at low cost. |
