The invention provides flying kites including bilaterally symmetric wind-bearing surfaces carried by a plain framework consisting of two triangular portions symmetric with respect ot a central axis and pivotably interconnected along that axis. An arcuate resilient rod is fixed to those edges of the framework tilted at equal angles to the central axis. Several reinforcing rods may be disposed on the windbearing surfaces to cross the frame members of the framework in symmetric relationships with the central axis. Also an auxiliary wing including a triangular framework may be fixed to the wind-bearing surfaces to be symmetric with respect to the central axis.
