The ketons (I) were prepd. wherein Alk. is an alkylene of 3 to 10 carbon atoms and having 3 to 7 carbon atoms intervening between the terminal bonds, R is an alkanoyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R' is an alkanoyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms or carboalkoxy of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and Ar is phenyl substituted by 3, 4-methylenedioxy. I were useful as virucides and insecticides (no data).
