ACTIVE PLANT EXTRACTS OF HYPOXIDACEAE AND THEIR USE

Plant material derived from the family Hypoxidaceae is heated at a temperature of at least 60 DEG C. for a sufficient period to ensure enzyme destruction and is then extracted at a temperature of 0 DEG -30 DEG C. with aqueous alcohol containing 30-75 volume percent ethanol for about 1 to 15 days to obtain a pharmaceutically active material.
