PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in detection accuracy by detection coil by stabilizing the flow of the developer falling within the detector vessel. CONSTITUTION:During operating of a developing device, the developer 3 is branched from a rotary sleeve 5 by a guide plate 7 and is once stored by being led in a storage tube 8, but the greater part thereof overflows from the top edge of the storage tube 8. Hence, the amount of the developer 3 in the storage tube 8 becomes nearly constant. While the developer 3 in the storage tube 8 is being measured by the revolutions of a feed roll 9, it falls by gravity at a constant flow rate and is poured into the top opening of a detection vessel 10. Since the discharge flow rate at the bottom opening of the detection vessel 10 has been set smaller than the rate of gravity fall, the developer 3 overflows at the top opening of the vessel. Hence, the flow of the developer 3 falling within the detection vessel 10 is held stabilized and the accuracy of detection is improved by the detection coil 6. |
