PURPOSE:To prepare unicellular protein in high yield by culturing unicellular protein-producing fungi in a medium containing effective components of distillers solubles. CONSTITUTION:Clear filtrate obtained by the centrifugal separation or filtration of distillers' solubles or its concentrate, obtained from the distillation residue of whisky, etc., of fraction of said filtrate containing high molecular component and low molecular component, is added to a medium, and unicellular protein-producing fungi, e.g. Candida lipolytica, Candida methanolica, etc., are inoculated and cultured in the medium. |
