The reactor installation (10) has a furnace (12) which delivers heat for an endothermic reaction. This furnace (12) has a part having elevated heating output and a wall arrangement (89) which delimits a combustion chamber (60). The furnace (12) has an outlet device (103). Means (16, 18) are assigned to the combustion chamber (60) which introduce the fuel (16) and an oxidant (18) into the combustion chamber (60). The installation (10) has a plurality of tubular reactors (20) which are arranged at least almost in the tightest packing and which are arranged within the furnace (12) and each of which has a first part (56) arranged within the combustion chamber (60) and a second part (58). The latter is arranged within the furnace part having elevated heating output, this oven part being provided with an inlet apparatus (104), which is in gas connection to the combustion chamber (60), and an outlet apparatus (67), which is in gas connection with the outlet device (103). Shield devices (90) arranged within the combustion chamber (60) are provided for reducing the temperature differences among the reactors (20). These shield devices (90) are arranged between the combustion chamber wall arrangement (89) and the reactors (20) adjacent to this wall arrangement (89), in order to reduce the radiant heating of the first parts (56) of the reactors (20) which are adjacent to the wall arrangement (89). This compact catalytic reactor installation simultaneously has a higher life expectancy and operates extremely efficiently. <IMAGE> |
