A carburetter (1) is connected to a float chamber (2) which supplies fuel to a main jet (5) and to slow running and accelerating jets (7, 8). The main jet opens in a venturi (9) in the centre of the air inlet. The carbureter body forms a secondary venturi (11) downstream of the main venturi (9). A butterfly blade (12) forms a throttle downstream of the venturis. The main venturi (9) and the throttle blade (12) are made of a porous material with a pore size less than 12 microns. The secondary venturi (11) is lined with a porous material (11A) having pores less than 2 microns. Liq. fuel is caught in these pores and leaves them as vapour.
|
