The graphite bonded wiper bar (2) of the overhead traction system has a lightweight, disposable construction. The ends are secured on profiled angle pieces (4) which bolt between the under support (1) of the bar and to the side sections (6) of the pantograph. The wiper bar sits proud of the assembly, which has a light mass. The support strip (1) under the bar has a hollow profile and holds the bar in a pressed recess.
