Demountable floating boom - stabilised by submerged buoy and array of cables, used e.g. to contain oil slicks

The floating boom forms a closed ring, with each segment of the ring linked to a central buoy under the water level in the middle of the structure, by a pattern of securing cables. The buoy is itself anchored to the seabed. One or more sections are hinged to allow access inside the boom. The boom can be used as an offshore marina, with walkways on the boom pontoons, or can be used to contain oil slicks. The boom sections are identical and stack into a compact space.
