Phase balancing of two-channel amplifier - involves using digitisation and phase comparison of continuous channel output signals

An arrangement is used for balancing two data channels of a two-channel amplifier and its associated phase discriminator. It uses digital technology for improved accuracy and economy w.r.t. conventional arrangements. The arrangement may be applied to monopulse radar receivers, passive direction finders, and control systems. Two separate pulsed signals are derived from the two channel pilot signals. One forms a reference signal. The sign of the phase difference between them is derived. A third pulsed signal width modulated according to the phase difference and containing a super-imposition frequency maybe converted to a continuous signal.
