The twine bundles for the baler are positioned in front of one wheel in the sight of the tractor driver. The twine is fed to the needles via a deflector and a guide roller system. The twine container (9) is so arranged that the twine emerges horizontally and transverse to the direction of travel. The deflector roller (13) is arranged on a support arm (12) near the container so that the twine is deflected through 90 deg. The guide roller is arranged directly in front of the needle (14) so that the twine runs linearly over the guide roller (15) up to the needle (14).
