<p>Three cylindrical rods (31,32) delimit a central passage 10 into which both fibres are abutted. Alignment of the two fibres is established by surrounding the three rods by a slotted elastic ring 40 having a diameter equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter of the circumference of contact around the three rods, a rigid mechanical element 50 ensuring the mechanical stability of the connector. Slotted sleeves 20 grip the clad fibres entering the connector. Sleeves 30 receiving the rod ends preferably engage them resiliently to facilitate making the joint in the field. <IMAGE></p> |
