A mixture consisting of lighter chip material (1) and stones (2) is fed into the machine (4) by a metering conveyor belt (3). The settling base is fitted with screen bottom (5) and is designed as a swing conveyor supported by a base plate mounted on resilient elements. Pulsating air is introduced through two air tubes, blowing air alternately into one of the connections fitted with perforated heads for even air distribution. A rocking movement of the entire contents is achieved, and heavier particles travelling downwards and gradually moving along the inclined plate (16) towards the chute (18). The lighter particles are discharged via baffle (14) towards discharge chute (15).
