Solar energy power system with chemical energy storage - uses ammonia absorption system to store energy during high input periods and release it during low input periods

An energy absorption type power generation system has a chemical thermal energy store which allows variations in input and demand to be smoothed out. The store undergoes reversible chemical reactions and uses the same working vapour (esp. NH3) as the power generator. The heat converter coupled into the thermal circuit is used in conjunction with the store. The auxiliary dilute soln. from the evaporator passes to the store for storage while the strong soln. form the absorber passes through when no heat is being taken into the system. The system allows a steady electrical output day and night by storing energy during daylight for later release.
