PURPOSE:To form a positive image in an exposed layer, which contains a metallic salt and a metallic complex, by heating an electromagnetic radioactive ray responsive composite, which contains a complex of Co(III and a chelating agent, in contact with the exposed layer after it is exposed to an image. CONSTITUTION:There is placed on a substrate an electromagnetic radioactive ray responsive composite layer, which is composed of: a complex of Co(III) such as Co(NH3)6(CF3COO)3; a chelating agent such as 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol having at least two coordination positions and a conjugate double bond for producing chelate together with Co(II); and a binder. The recording material thus prepared is exposed to an image and then heated under the condition, in which it is in contact with an exposed layer containing a metallic salt such as zinc acetate which can produce a chelate together with the chelating agent in the exposed material. Then, the exposed material formed with a positive image is peeled off from the recording material which is formed with a negative image. |
