NEW MATERIAL:Aclacinomycin Y (named by the inventors) of formula I, its acid salt, and nucleic acid complex. USE:Oncostatic drugs, particularly remedies for infectious diseases of Gram-positive bacteria and anti malignant oncostatic drugs. PROCESS:Aclacinomycin Y-producing bacteria, preferably one type selected from Streptomyces galilaeus MA 144-M1 FEMP No.2455 (ATCC 31133) and Streptomyces galilaeus ATCC 14969 which belong to the genus Streptomyces are acrobically cultured according to the conventional method in a medium containing the well- known nutrients which can be utilized by ordinary microorganisms. The objective commpound is separated from the liquid medium thus obtained and purified as a simple component. Alternatively, Aclacinomycin A or/and MA114-NI is converted to the objective compound by enzymic reaction, and the reaction mixture is treated in the same way as described above. |
