The chocks are adjustable by rods 5 having oppositely threaded ends which cooperate with pivotable nuts 6 in the chocks. The rods pass through the frame 4 without transferring the rolling loads to the frame. Each rod has a rotatable bush 7 near one end, and a threaded bush 8 near the opposite end. Rotation of the bushes 7, which are keyed to the rods, causes the oppositely threaded ends to move the chocks towards or away from each other. Rotation of the bushes 8, however, causes axial movement of the rods to shift the two chocks laterally relative to the pass line. Backlash in the nuts 6 is taken up by balancing units 10. |
