PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and the aging shelf life of the subject material, and to reduce the generation of a fogging in the material by incorporating a silver halide particle which has two or more phases having different silver iodide contents respectively and a mean silver iodide content higher than the content of the outer edge of the particle, and also a specified compd. in the emulsion layer of the material, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises at least one layer of silver halide emulsion layers mounted on a substrate, and the silver halide particle is constituted of two or more phases having the different silver iodide contents respectively and contains the particle having the mean silver halide content higher than the content of the outer edge of the particle. The silver halide particle is incorporated in the one layer of the emulsion layers, and at least one kind of compds. shown by formula I is incorporated in the emulsion layer. In formula I, R1 is -NHCOR3 or -NHSO2R4 group, R3 and R4 are each alkyl or aryl group, R2 is halogen atom, nitro, cyano, amino, sulfo, hydroxyl, alkyl or a heterocyclic ring group, etc., (n) is 0-4, and when (n) is >=2, each of the groups R2 may be the same or the different with each other. Thus, the sensitivity and the aging shelf life of the material are improved, and the generation of the fogging in the material is prevented. |
