PURPOSE:To prepare L-glutamin in high yield, by culturing a cobalamine-resistant variant belonging to Brevibacterium genus. CONSTITUTION:AJ11200 strain (FERM-P No.4271) obtained by the N-methyl- N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine-treatment of a cobalamine-resistant, L-glutamin-producing variant belonging to Brevibacterium genus, e.g. Brevibacterium flavum ATCC 14067, is cultured under aerobic conditions at pH4-8 and 25-37 deg.C for 1-7 days, and L- glutamin is separated from the medium. A strain which is resistant to sulfaguanidine as well as cobalamine, e.g. AJ-11201 strain (FERM-P No.4272) has higher L-glutamin- productivity. |
