PURPOSE:To make it easy to manufacture a thermal cell by making it possible to remove only a water absorption plate independently without contacting to a unitary frame, and installing the water absorption plate to the unitary frame after an electrolyte is made to be held in a matrix. CONSTITUTION:An electrode body of a fuel cell is made by laminating an electrode 3 which is formed by pressing to attach an electrode catalyst 1 to both sides or one side of an electrode metallic net 2, an electrode 8, a matrix 11 to maintain an electrolyte, a water absorption plate 13, electrode frames 4, 5, 9, and 10, on which a glass-fiber-reinforced epoxy resin prepreg is processed, a matrix frame 12, and a water absorption plate frame 14, and by incorporating them by a hot press. The water absorption plate 13 is hollowed out at the inside, and the size is 110mmX110mm. As a result, a clearance of 3mm is produced between the water absorption plate 13 and the water absorption plate frame 14. This clearance is not eliminated perfectly even though they are incorporated by a hot press, preventing the contact of the water absorption plate and the water absorption plate frame. The water-absorption plate can be removed freely from the unitary frame. |
