COMBUSTION CHAMBER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A spark-ignition internal combustion piston engine had an auxiliary chamber connected to each main combustion chamber through a torch nozzle. The intake valve for the auxiliary chamber was provided with an apertured skirt for varying the effective size of the torch nozzle under turning movement of the intake valve stem, controlled by intake vacuum pressure of the engine.
