<p>The gear-type coupling has straight teeth engaging with curved teeth to transmit torque between two shafts. It comprises a flanged half (1) with convex internal teeth and a hub half (2) with straight external teeth (4). The external dia. of the curved convex internally-toothed portion is greater than the internal dia. of the straight-toothed portion on the hub, to leave between the crown of each curved tooth and the foot of each straight one an annular gap. This is taken up when the offset between hub and flange half axes is the greatest.</p> |
