Compsns. comprising platinum complexes of formula (I) or (II) are new: (where X and Y are halogen or pseudohalogen (e.g. cyanate, thiocyanate or oxide), pref. both Cl, each Z is OH or as for X or Y, esp. Cl, A and B are each aminoalicyclic gps. coordinated to Pt via N, A' and B' are opt. C-substd. amino-alicyclic gps. coordinated via N, and of formula cyclo-CnR2n-1NH2 where n is 3-7, each R is H, or opt. substd. alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, halogen, pseudohalogen, OH, formyl, NO2, alkoxy, aryloxy, NH2, acylamino, SO3H or salt, or carboxylate ester or salt). Pref. Pt is present as Pt4+to give a neutral complex. Pref. amines A, B, A' and B' are cyclo(5-7C)alkylamine.
