A phase regulating circuit is used to provide control of the rotating magnetic pick ups of a video recording system. The pick ups (H1, H2) are mounted on a rotating head, fitted with a pick up (P) that provides pulses to an amplifier (2). The amplified signals are transmitted over a controlled delay stage (3) to control the motor (1). The phase regulating loop (100) has a reference (Pa) and command (Pb) that are used to control a latch (21). The latch outputs are gated (24, 25) by a frequency divider (23) into a bidirectional counter (15). The count direction is dependent upon the system error, and provides a correction to the motor. |
