<p>The deformed steel bar shear connector may be fixed by stud-welding gear and is for utilisation in anchoring a two-layer refractory concrete lining. The connector is symmetrical about its longitudinal axis and is formed by bending (9) a straight bar through 180 deg. at its mid-point. The legs (1, 2) are initially parallel and diverge terminally in undulating lengths (7, 8). The undulating lengths may each occupy between one quarter and one half of the total length of the bar, and the gap (D2) between the parallel legs (1, 2) may equal twice the dia. (D) of the bar. For a short interval after the bend (9) the legs may run close together (3, 4) and may be cranked out to obtain the interval (2D) of twice the dia.</p> |
