<p>A pedestrian controlled forklift truck has a protective skirt (6) fixed to the base (7) with a shock absorber (10). The skirt (6) carries a rubber strip (12) with its edge touching the ground. A boss (18), attached to the skirt (6) actuates a switch (19) when the skirt strikes any obstacle. This switch (19) shuts off the driving motor and after a short delay reverses the direction of travel of the truck.</p> |
