Adaption of telephone for physically handicapped - permits dialling by magnetic clutch operated from contacts controlled by mouthpiece

An adapter for a telephone enables a tetraplegia handicapped person to use the telephone thus preventing isolation. The adapter does not require electrical connection to the telephone line. A telephone handset (3) is attached to the end of an arm (4) with a flexible section (5) to permit positional adjustment. The arm is clamped (16) to an armchair (17). A mouthpiece (12) attached to flexible (15) and rigid (14) sections of pipe permits operation of electrical contacts. The telephone base (2, 8) and dial are enclosed (1) with a plate to operate handset contacts. There is a magnetic clutch assembly which permits dial rotation the numbers being indicated by LED elements (7-9).
