Adhesive composed of primarily non-water soluble PVA suitable for disposable non-woven fabrics such as sanitary napkins, hygienic bands, filters, etc. was prepd. by mixing PVA soln. (d.p. 1,700-2,500, concn. 5-20%), glyoxal (concn. 30-40%) 0.1-20wt. % of the PVA, and acryl emulsion (concn. 45%) having a glass transition temp. (Tg) of 10-30≦̸C.
