Evaporative desalination plant - with condensation space in each column above evaporation space in same tank

An evaporative desalination plant consists of several identical columns, each column consisting of a vertical cylindrical pressure vessel. The condensation space of each lies directly above the evaporation space and communicated with it through a vertical tube which protrudes a certain height into the condensation space. This has twice the distillation capacity for the same floor space, compared with a conventional plant. Each column is of simple design and easy to mfr. Each column can be assembled and tested completely in the works.
