The clamp is for fastening of a rope using 'U' bolts, in a clamp housing. The housing has two wedge-shaped opposite slide sections, and two metal side plates, which connect them. The housing is held on a supporting frame or a winch drum, and a accommodates and retains a rope wedge. The wedge is drawn into the clamp housing by the tensile force of the rope, which engages in grooves in the wedge, thereby supporting and wedging itself against the slide sections. The rope wedge consists of two symmetrical clamping sections (2, 3), each having one of the two clamping surfaces (4). The rope (1) to be fastened is inserted straight between the sections in rope grooves in the dividing surface which form a dividing joint. To draw-in the rope wedge, the rope is connected to one clamp section (2) by 'U' bolts (5). |
