The matching aid consists of a cardboard sleeve receiving a card. The sleeve has three sets of windows. One side of the sleeve has sections representing optimum sizes for women's or men's articles of clothing. One window, e.g. has hip sizes printed alongside. The slide is moved to bring a printed mark into line with a hip size range. This automatically places measurements printed on the slide in the windows showing e.g. dress sizes. A cross shown in the respective windows indicates that the supplier does not have available a dress for this particular combination of hip, waist and height. Other sections appertain to other items of clothing.
