PURPOSE:To prevent excessive decrease in engine output, and to obtain smooth shift-up by not executing the decrease of the engine output that is concomitant with the shift-up when the estimated engine speed after the shift-up is not more than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:At a control unit U1 for transmission, the decision whether the transmission is executed or not is performed based on a predetermined transmission characteristic, and a transmission command signal, that is, a shift-up signal or a shift-down signal is output. A delay angle request signal of ignition timing is output to a control unit U2 for controlling the ignition timing by the control unit U1 at a predetermined timing after the transmission command signal is output. Only when the shift-up is to be executed, prerequisites for the execution of the delay angle include that the estimated engine speed after the shift-up is greater than a predetermined value, for example an equivalent to the idling speed. For the decrease in the engine output during the shift-up, some methods are to be taken properly such as the execution of the delay angle of ignition timing, the change of the air-fuel ratio or making it lean, or by forcing a throttle valve altered to closing direction. |
