PURPOSE:To improve picture compressibility by encoding the density information of a picture by high efficiency during a frame or between the frames, and transmitting the contour information of an area divided by the degree of density. CONSTITUTION:A density information generating device 15 including a high efficiency encoder 16 redundancy-suppressing-processes original density information 50 having passes through a gate 21, and outputs the density information 27. On the other hand, the original density information 50 having passed through the gate 21 is stored in a frame memory 17, and is made into new picture information. Besides, a contour information generating device 18 including and consisting of an outline extractor 19 and an encoder 20 divides the picture into the areas conforming to the gradation level of density in respect of the original density information 51 having passed through the gate 22, and extracts the contour of these areas, and generates original contour information, and after suppressing redundancy if necessary, outputs the outline information 28. Thus, the dynamic picture encoding of higher efficiency can be attained. |
