Elastic coupling for two rotating shafts - has tensioning sleeves vulcanised on polygonal rubber ring for shaft mounting

An elastic shaft coupling for two rotating shafts consists of a polygonal rubber ring. Tensioning sleeves are vulcanised on the latter for mounting of the shafts. Each alternate sleeve can be replaced, if need be, by the arm of a hub spider. Each sleeve or arm has a projection (6, 12) extending from the vulcanised surfaces in the direction of the rubber columns (5). The latter are subjected to a pulling load w.r.t. the main direction of rotation. The vulcanised surfaces (9, 11) are essentially flat w.r.t. the rubber columns (4) subjected to a compressing load.
