The seat is guided in a guide (3) on the side wall of the vehicle body and has a roller enabling it to move along the floor. The guide is sunk into the side wall and accommodates a belt (9) which is connected to an automatically-locking, belt-coiling roller. The seat has horizontal and vertical supports (5) each ending in a roller or slide. The horizontal supports move in at least two horizontal guides in the side wall. The design ensures that the seat remains firmly located irrespective of the sudden movement of the vehicle.
