PURPOSE:To effectively increase the sensitivity of a heat-mode recording element by irradiating a preheating beam prior to a recording beam so as to increase the temperature of a portion to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:The beams emanating from a semiconductor laser 1 and a white light source 4 are converted by means of collimator lenses 2 and 5 into parallel beams 3 and 6, which are (non)coaxially composed by means of a beam composer 7 such as a dichroic mirror. The beams thus composed are deflected by an optical deflector 8 such as a galvanomirror so as to form their respective image of the light source upon a head-mode recording element 10. In this instance, the respective light sources are so positionally adjusted that the white light source image precedes slightly the semiconductor laser light source image with respect to the scanning directon of the recording beam. Thus, the shape of the white light source image is formed into a desired shape by means of an aperture 14. |
