A process for the preparation of synthetic mineral fibres for use for the reinforcement of cementitious products comprising the steps of reducing the length of mineral wool fibres in a hammer mill, wet cleaning the fibrous material thus formed and recovering the wet cleaned fibres. This process provides fibres e.g. of rock wool which have a consistent length and which when used in a cementitious product provide a greater improvement in its modules of rupture. |
