<p>A porthole 1 particularly for washing machines is characterised by being provided with a peripheral ring member 2 which is preferably made of plastics material, suitably ABS, and which is possibly chromium plated. The ring member 2 is provided internally and throughout its circumference with an undercut element 3 which provides a slot or seating 4 for a seal 5. The seal 5 which is made of rubber or other soft material may not necessarily extend continuously throughout the circumference of the slot or seating 4. The seal 5 serves to position a glass element 6 which is pressure connected and is forcibly inserted into the slot or seating 4 in which it is perfectly and completely retained. <IMAGE></p> |
