Threads are made from a vulcanised rubber layer to which an unvulcanised coating of adhesive is applied and are attachable to a pneumatic or solid rubber tyre. The crude thread mixture is fed onto a rotating foundation and is compressed by a roller. The mixture is sprayed between the upward and downward sections of a pressure pulley belt which encircles and drives a disc. Prior to the ascent of the belt, a coated film or a second layer of rubber is applied.
